Aluminium Scrap
Aluminium is a very frequently used type of metal. It can be used for a wide variety of applications. It is attractive and lightweight, and used for car production and in the construction industry. Examples of aluminium products or products that include aluminium are cars, window frames, road signs, pots, pans, packaging etc. There are three methods for giving aluminium its definitive shape: Casting, drawing and die cutting, referred to as cast aluminium, drawn aluminium and die-cut (wrought) aluminium. Cast aluminium is used for things like car engines, while window frames are made from drawn aluminium. Wrought aluminium is used for things like the chassis plate under the bonnet of a car. The number of possible applications and the use of aluminium continues to increase. Around 70% of all aluminium produced is collected and recycled Just like all other metals, aluminium can be reused an unlimited number of times. The reused material is just as strong and has the same qualities as when it was freshly created from bauxite and aluminium oxide. Due to the increased usage and improved collection structures, more and more aluminium is being created from used and recycled aluminium. 30% of global aluminium is recycled. Aluminium recycling has existed since the very start of aluminium production. Creating aluminium from scrap requires just 5% of the energy needed to produce it from raw materials. The aluminium industry therefore strives to receive as much as possible. Currently in the Netherlands, 76% of all aluminium is melted down and recycled, and this percentage continues to increase
